About the translator

David Anderson learned Russian during National Service in the Navy in the 1950’s and while working in European projects in Romania and Ukraine.   He worked as a psychiatric social worker at Dingleton Hospital, a therapeutic community in the Scottish Borders; was an Assistant Director of Social Services in Cambridgeshire, and a Lecturer in Social Work at Dundee University. Author of ‘Social Work and Mental Handicap’, published in 1982.

He has lived in Fife, Scotland, since 1988.
